Yes, but the Charlotte Mason Homeschooling Series is 6 books by itself! (Have you read them all? I haven't -- not even close.)

Picky, picky, picky!!!

Now, I didn't say "7 Books I've Read," just "7 of My Favorite Books!" No, I have not read the whole series yet, but I am working on it, slowly and surely! I LOVE our monthly discussion group! I don't know if I would be motivated to read it on my own.

OUR monthly discussion group? You do realize I've been missing for a year now, right? lol.

Remember, you were pretty quick to yank my e-mail update privilege (but I decided not to read into that, maybe).

Sorry, I didn't mean "our" as in you and I, but I do greatly miss having you in "our" group. (I just didn't want to use the word "my!") You added a lot and you are ALWAYS welcome to come back. (Sorry about the e-mail thing. That is how I do it with everyone. It was nothing personal. Promise!!!) The situation we discussed has been long taken care of!

I got kicked off the CM Email Loop too - I'm cool with it.

Jennifer - are you growing your hair out? Totally unrelated but I was just wondering....

For the record, the only reason I have a CM e-mail list is to keep members of the group updated with group info. I don't think it's really very interesting to anyone else! It also helps me keep track of who's in the group, although it is so small now, I don't need that function. You are BOTH always welcome to come back! We would love to have you!

My hair? Are you referring to my picture on my blog, which was taken the day before I got my hair cut? Actually, I'm taking a poll: should I grow it out, keep it short, or get a modern style?

LOL... Jen, I don't care that I'm not on the CM email loop - I was just throwing that out there for fun!

Why not try a style in between short and long - like a shoulder length crop or something?

Is it really BIBLICAL for you to cut your hair at all? :)

My Hair Vote: Obtain all the opinions you can from friends-including Natasha, then go to a top-of-the-line stylist for a final opinion. From my perspective, you are beautiful with long or short hair (although I am talking about a different "beauty" in this context). IMHO, I think you can obtain a hairstyle that is easy to manage, contemporary without being worldy, and best accentuates your God-given facial features.

Wow! I'm humbled. I didn't know you thought so highly of me. ;~}

I think there must be a comment missing between Mark's two posts.

Jennifer -- you must know that you have an authoritative aire and speak in specifics. Most people (me included) are going to take you literally until they see a reason not to (like I am learning). When you say that the CM series is amongst your favorite books, it's IMPLIED THAT YOU HAVE READ THEM (sorry for the caps, there isn't a simple italic function here).

You do that kind of thing more than you might realize, and it causes a lot of confusion to those who don't know you well -- they only know that you profess Christ, (therefore wouldn't lie), and are saying such-and-such, so it must be so.

Also...I can recommend a great stylist, if you want -- as long as Mark is paying!

Mark's first comment was in reply to my poll on my hair. His second comment was about the 7 things I love about him!

I'm sorry for any confusion regarding the books! The SERIES is a favorite, even though I haven't read the whole thing! I have read a great deal of the series, but not the whole thing. I don't understand what is so confusing about that.

Yes, I do try to be honest, but I'm also real. Sometimes specifics are important, sometimes generalities will suffice. I don't understand your standards for me. And I do have a sense of humor once in a while. I hope you can find it!

I also don't understand the part about Mark paying for a hair stylist, but I'll take the name!

GB - I'll give you a huge clue to my personality. I'm good friends with Sarah!!!

Jen Fishburne said...

Sarah, are you asking me to write a very controversial post on women cutting their hair??? I'll think I'll pass for the moment! Too many current controversies. (But I love them! When they die out, I shall be sure to come up with a new one, although I did NOT anticipate some of these controversies, such as whether I read the WHOLE CM series! Or why I keep my e-mail lists cleaned up!) Keep 'em coming, GB!

Well you know there is that 1 verse about how the woman's covering is her long hair... I think one could argue it either way and have a jury convinced!

Jen Fishburne said...

Yes, Sarah, I think that verse could be argued either way. I think long hair is a woman's glory, but then again, not all women look good in long hair. My hair just barely grows. It took me 6 years of growing my hair just to get it as long as it was last summer - not very long! Also, due a medical condition I had, it had become, well, not very nice, so it looked better shorter. My latest position is that it should be feminine.

Jen Fishburne said...

GB - did you ever think that all I wanted from you is to be friends? I enjoy a good debate. I do not like to argue, but I thought we were having more of a conversation than stirring up controversy. I still do not understand your concern on this particular post. I'm sorry!
