For my birthday, a good friend came over and taught me how to make cold-process soap!
What a great gift!
First, we added lye to room temperature rain water and stirred and stirred as the temperate quickly rose to almost boiling! 
Michelle warmed up all the oils.
When they were all EXACTLY the same temperature, we mixed them together and stirred (and stirred and stirred!) for about an hour, until saponification took place.
Saponification!
