The World

I have always wondered exactly what I John means when he talks about all that is in the world. Here is the list.

The World

The lust of the flesh
The lust of the eyes
The pride of life

I did an interesting comparison today with the passage in Genesis that talks about the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Here is what Eve saw:

The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil

Good for food
Pleasant to the eyes
Desirable to make one wise

Comparing Scripture with Scripture sure does make it come alive!

Good 'ol Sola Scriptura. What a blessing it is when we let Holy Scripture interpret Holy Scripture--in its entirety.

Yes, I saw this too! You may be aware that in the realm of psychology, these are known as audio, visual and kinesthetic modalities. I've noticed that our area of greatest strength is usually our area of greatest weakness. I happen to be artistically (visually) inclined. I also am prone to lust after things the most!

Very interesting insight, e-Mom! That will give me cause to think today!
